Payment system down for Charleston Water customers

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Water System customers who tried to pay their water bill received a message saying the online and pay-by-phone systems are unavailable.

The message read, "Due to system maintenance, Charleston Water System's online and pay-by-phone systems will be unavailable until 1:00 a.m. Monday, May 21."

Other payment options include:

In Person:
Walk-in, drive-thru, and night deposit service. 
Business hours: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Closed holidays.

-Downtown: 103 St. Philip St.
-North Area: 6296 Rivers Ave.
-Authorized Payment Locations

Western Union centers in the stores below accept bill payments for a $1.00 fee. Hours of operation may vary. Payments after 4 p.m. or on weekends or holidays will be credited to your account the next business day.

If your water service was shut off due to nonpayment and you make a payment at one of these locations, please call their Customer Service department at 843-727-6800.

Auto Draft:
Each month's payment will be deducted from your bank account on the due date. 
Bank accounts only.  Debit / credit cards can't be used for Auto Draft.
