Report: Wando High School student arrested for bringing knife, blades to school

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a Wando High School student has been arrested for bringing a knife and two blades to school.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department charged 18-year-old Kenedy Cash with carrying a weapon on school grounds.

It happened Monday afternoon at the school on 1000 Warrior Way.

According to a Mt. Pleasant police report, the incident started at the cafeteria where Cash was involved in an altercation with a 16-year-old girl.

A police report states the 16-year-old student ran over, yelled,"Let's Go, I wanna fight," then picked up a soda bottle and threw it at Cash.

Two other students reported that Cash had threatened to "stab and tase anybody" which MPPD officials say prompted school employees to search Cash's purse where authorities said they located two razor blades and an 8-inch knife.

Cash was charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds.

The student who reportedly threw the soda bottle was charged with disorderly conduct.
