CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

One great white shark made its way back to our coast.

Hilton pinged off Charleston's coast on Sunday.

The male shark is 12-and-a-half feet and weighs over 1300 pounds.

Last month, OCEARCH, a shark research organization, reported that Hilton pinged in from the Gulf of Mexico, a location the organization has never tracked him to before.

Hilton was originally tagged off the coast of Hilton Head Island in March of last year.

Since being tagged, Hilton has traveled over 11,000 miles.

Hilton's been tracked swimming as far as Nova Scotia, a destination OCEARCH officials say the shark is likely headed to next.
