COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies have charged a man suspected of shooting two people in Colleton County.
The Colleton County Sheriff's Office has arrested 28-year-old Jerrell Mowan Roberts from Yemassee. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder.
His bond was set at $150,000 cash and he must also have a GPS monitoring device attached before being released, CCSO officials said.
Roberts was arrested for an incident that happened on May 26 at 6:47 a.m. when authorities received a 911 call about a shooting that happened in the area of Jonesville Avenue and Hendersonville Highway in Yemassee.
When deputies arrived they found two men with gunshot wounds.
Affidavits state that the suspect used an assault rifle to shoot both victims multiple times. One victim suffered life threatening injuries.
The victims were transported to the Colleton County Medical Center Emergency Room.
Investigators arrived at the scene and found multiple shell casings.
"The vehicle located at the scene in possession of the victims was reported stolen out of Charleston County," CCSO officials said.
Roberts was locked up at the Colleton County Detention Center.
