BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County wants to offer its residents a new place to put their boat in the water, but first it wants input from those who will use it most.
Those who attend a meeting on Thursday will see a conceptual design for the future Bushy Park boat landing site and be able to provide feedback. The site will be located on the Cooper River, roughly .75 miles northeast of the existing landing on what some people call the Big Island.
Plans for the boat landing include 152 parking spots, a boat ramp, and a paddle boat launch.
Berkeley County says its working with the Department of Natural Resources, state government, and federal aid to fund the project.
The meeting will be held Thursday night from 5-7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Berkeley County administration building.
