MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a man whose car was shot at a Publix parking lot in Mount Pleasant has been charged with dealing drugs.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested Philip Crescenzo on Thursday and charged him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

His charges stem from an incident on June 4 when police say Dante Brown met with Crescenzo in the parking lot of the Publix in Park West for a drug deal.

According to police, during the deal, Brown took out a gun and a struggle ensued.

"During the struggle the weapon went off with the bullet striking Philip Crescenzo's car," MPPD officials said."Dante Brown then left the area."

Crescenzo was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries he received during the fight, police said.

He was later released.

"A search of Philip Crescenzo's vehicle revealed approximately four pounds of marijuana in the trunk," MPPD officials said.

Officers arrested Brown on June 8 and charged him with armed robbery, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
