MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

An investigation is underway after a fire at a house in Mount Pleasant Friday morning.

Officials say one firefighter was hospitalized because of heat exhaustion from the fire in the 1200 block of Llewellyn Road, but is expected to be ok.

The house itself is a total loss, but firefighters managed to save some valuables. No one was home at the time when the fire ignited about 8:30 a.m.

The fire was contained by 9 a.m. and the smoldering stopped about 9:30 a.m.
