Traffic pattern changes in Hanahan to start Friday

HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) -

Some traffic pattern changes for the Williams Lane project in Hanahan will go into effect Friday.

On June 15,  traffic pattern changes for the Williams Lane project will be implemented on Foster Creek Road at the intersections of Song Sparrow Drive and Williams Lane.

The changes will make the intersection to become a traffic circle, according to a statement by Berkeley County Government. 

Signage, temporary painted pavement markings, and traffic barrels will be in place indicating proper traffic flow, said Berkeley County Government Spokesperson Hannah Moldenhauer. 

According to Moldenhauer, the work is the beginning of the second phase of the four-phase project. This will allow crews to work in the center of the traffic circle. Stage three will consist of paving  The fourth and final stage will include the final paving work and beautification work. 

The project is expected to be completed on July 28.
