CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Residents across the Lowcountry had quite a light show Friday night thanks to severe weather.

Viewers from Charleston, North Charleston and Goose Creek sent in pictures and videos of multiple lightning strikes.

For the most part the lightning didn't do any reported damage to any structures. However, Casey Lawson captured video of a transformer exploding on Highway 61 in the Summerville area during the severe thunderstorm warning that was issued for Dorchester County.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester counties and expired at 9:15 p.m.

Locations impacted included North Charleston, Summerville, Middleton Place, Slands Bridge, Givhans Ferry State Park, Ridgeville, Cottageville and Givhans.

The National Weather Service says minor hail damage to vehicles was possible, and to expect wind damage to trees and power lines.
