GEORGETOWN COUTY, SC (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies arrested three men following an investigation into heroin sales in the county.

Eric Cox of Andrews, Devanta Judson of Sampit and Lavar Cooper of the Andrews and Sampit area were taken into custody with the assistance of the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and the Georgetown Police Department, according to Georgetown County Sheriff's spokesman Jason Leslie.

Agents developed information and made purchases of heroin and crack cocaine from suspected dealers in the Andrews and Sampit sections of Georgetown County.

Cox was charged with two counts of distribution of heroin (second offense), one count of distribution of cocaine base (second offense), three counts of distribution of controlled substance within ½ mile of a school or park, possession with intent to distribute heroin (second offense), possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (second offense), possession with intent to distribute MDMA (second offense) and unlawful carrying of a pistol, deputies say.

When arrested, Cox was found to be in possession of a .357 magnum revolver loaded with hollow-point bullets as well as distribution-level quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and MDMA and an unspecified amount of cash, Leslie said.

Cooper was charged with distribution of heroin (second offense) and distribution of controlled substance within ½ mile of a school or park.

Judson was charged with distribution of heroin (first offense) and distribution of controlled substance within ½ mile of a school or park.

All three were being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
