A change of command ceremony will take place Thursday at Joint Base Charleston.

Air Force Col. Clinton ZumBrunnen will take the reigns of the 437th Airlift wing from Col. Jimmy Canlas at 9 a.m.

The 437th is one of the base's active-duty flying wings which maintains the largest fleet of C-17s in the U.S. Air Force. The wing plays a large role in air drops and providing humanitarian aid while also supporting the needs of U.S. Embassies around the world. It also offers to resupply operational needs in hostile areas.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin on the base at 9 a.m.
