GEORGETOWN COUTY, SC (WCSC) - Georgetown County deputies have arrested a man Thursday after responding to reports of a suspicious person.

Justin James Potson has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and gun violations.

Deputies were called to the area of Rose Hill Road Wednesday night after a suspicious person was reported near Rose Hill Church, according to the sheriff's office.

Officers made contact with Potson at the intersection of Raeford Court and Rose Hill Road. When officers found a baggie in Potson's car, Potson reportedly said it was meth.

Officers took him into custody and searched his car. They reportedly found several firearms and rounds of ammunition, vials of liquid believed to be animal steroids, a rock-like substance believed to be meth, a pipe, needles and cash.

Potson is awaiting charges and a bond hearing.
