SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a Seneca man who was wanted after he allegedly sold meth to undercover operatives earlier this year and caused a crash while fleeing a traffic stop last year was arrested Wednesday.

28-year-old Alexander O’Neil Hunter was arrested after a traffic stop on Wells Highway in Seneca.

Deputies said agents from the Narcotics Division supervised the controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Hunter at an address near Seneca earlier this year.

He also had outstanding arrest warrants from an incident that occurred in August 2017 where he is accused of leading a deputy on a chase, jumping out of the car, and leaving the vehicle to crash into a ditch.

Hunter eventually stopped the vehicle in the middle of the roadway and ran on foot, leaving the vehicle in drive.  The vehicle eventually came to a stop in a ditch on Hope Avenue.  The driver was not apprehended.

He was back out of jail on bond by Thursday.
