MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - The first Moncks Corner Lions Club Jamboree had to deal with a few hiccups on Thursday night, mostly thanks to the weather, but in the end 6 local teams got to compete in 2 separate one quarter scrimmages.

"I am excited to host this jamboree and appreciate all of the Lions Club's planning and hard work to bring an event of this kind to Berkeley County," Berkeley High School Principal Steven Steele said. "The gate proceeds will be reinvested into our local communities and into each participating teams' program so we are teaching our kids the importance of giving back. This is also the first opportunity for fans to see their teams this season, and I am confident that they will not be disappointed."

Cross High School's team was originally scheduled to play but had to pull out because of unforeseen circumstances, district spokesperson Katie Tanner said.
