First Baptist names Alex Snider head baseball coach

CHARLESTON, SC - First Baptist High School introduced Alex Snider as the school's new head baseball coach on Monday afternoon.

Snider, a former First Baptist student and current First Baptist HS Math teacher has a BS in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the College of Charleston (2015). He finished his MS Ed. in Educational Leadership in 2018. Coach Snider played AAU baseball for seven years. He played for the First Baptist JV team from 2005-07, until he moved to Columbia where he continued playing for Ridge View High School from 2007-11.

During his sophomore year at the College of Charleston, Coach Snider began working for the Charleston River Dogs grounds crew and has worked there from 2012-present.

He coached the First Baptist B Team from 2013-14, until he took his first teaching and coaching position at Wando High School from 2014-16. At Wando, he was the head JV coach along with an assistant Varsity coach. In 2017, he returned to First Baptist where he plans to remain teaching Pre-Calculus, Algebra 3 and Advanced Algebra.


From 2017-18, he was the FBS head JV coach and assistant Varsity coach. He was also the assistant coach for the Charleston Braves during the 2018 summer season.
