Hurricane re-entry stickers available until Tuesday for those evacuating IOP

ISLE OF PALMS, SC (WCSC) -

In order to return after an evacuation, Isle of Palms residents will need a hurricane re-entry sticker. 

A resident of the island has until 3 p.m.on Tuesday to get one at the Public Safety Building at 30 J.C. Long Boulevard. Only residents, property owners, and people who manage properties on the island can get a sticker.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Must present the vehicle registration for each car being registered.
  • Stickers are limited to 3 per household. No exceptions.
  • They must be affixed on the driver's side of the assigned vehicle. \
  • If you have a Wild Dunes Gate pass or an IOP sticker, those will also work for someone to regain access after the evacuation order has been lifted.

    Charleston police are asking for the public's help to find a missing teenager.  Keyonna Latriece Felder, 16, was last seen at 1385 Ashley River Road in Apartment C on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. She was last seen by her mother on Sept. 11.

    The Army Corps of Engineers has given the go-ahead for the planned expansion of Joe Riley Waterfront Park. DHEC and the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management had already issued the state permits in May.
