NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are looking for 28 year old Joseph Graddick. Officers say Graddick broke into a woman's apartment at the St. Charles complex on June 16th, and sexually assaulted her.

He is wanted on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, Burglary and Kidnapping in connection with the June 16th attack.

"He crawled through the kitchen window. She was sleeping on the couch. he approached her, had sexual intercourse against her will," North Charleston Police Detective Shawn Patrick said.

Police say Graddick tried to lock the victim in her bathroom, but she managed to get out.

"She ran nearly naked to a neighbor's house to phone police, and we responded shortly thereafter," Detective Patrick said.

"She was very terrified. Of course, anytime someone breaks into your house. She woke up on the couch to this guy pretty much on top of her."

"It scared her to death. She's probably still going through a traumatic time," Patrick added.

Detectives say Graddick planned his crime, even wearing socks over his hands to avoid leaving fingerprints at the scene.

"He's been around the block many times as far as his criminal past," Patrick said.

Cops would like to see Graddick in a cell block. He stands 6'2" and weighs 180 pounds.

His last known address was on Frank Green Road in Goose Creek.
