MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mt. Pleasant police are searching for 30-year-old Alcleius Jones. Jones is wanted on charges of Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.
Investigators say on October 3rd, Jones invaded a home on Canyon Oaks Drive in Seaside Farms, beat and robbed the resident. Detectives say Jones planned the attack after attending a party at the house.
"He came in and noticed that the victim had a large amount of cash," Mt. Pleasant Police Corporal Julius Buncum said. "When they left the residence, he decided to wanted to go back and rob the victim."
Detectives say Jones demanded a briefcase full of cash. The situation got very ugly.
"A fight ensued and the suspect started hitting the victim with a gun and also a golf club," Corporal Buncum said. "There was a large amount of blood on the scene. He required stitches to close some wounds to his head."
Police say Jones should be considered armed and dangerous.
"He loves drugs. He'll do anything for drugs. He sells drugs. He uses drugs, crack cocaine," Corporal Buncum said.
Detectives say Jones had some help in the home invasion from a female accomplice. She's been caught. But so far she hasn't coughed up any information about Jones' whereabouts to cops.
Alcleius Jones stands 5'6" and weighs 160 pounds. He could be hiding out in the Oakridge section of North Charleston, Hugo Avenue in Charleston Heights, or around Highway 61 West of the Ashley.
