Charleston County, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies are looking for 37 year old Monique Taylor, who is wanted on 21 counts of check fraud.
"I believe if my memory serves me correct, she's probably been a crook as long as I've been a cop," Charleston County Sheriff's Detective Reggie Sharpe said.
Deputies say Taylor has targeted pizza delivery drivers and convenience stores.
"Basically she gets her checkbook and goes to writing until we catch her," Detective Sharpe said. "And she'll stop for awhile and start up again. She's back at it again. It's time to shut her down."
"We tried to help her over the years, and time and time again she balks at the system and it's through. it's over."
There's some 14,000 bad check warrants in Charleston County. Most of the time offenders will avoid jail time if they make good on it. But cops say Taylor won't have that luxury.
"It's robbing somebody with a pen instead of a gun, and you get something for nothing, and these people can't go around doing that, stealing," Detective Sharpe said.
Monique Taylor's last known address was on Brown way in Ravenel.
