NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of a shooting Sunday night in North Charleston.

Eston Shoaf, 33, died from a gunshot wound on Sunday at approximately 7:45 p.m. at Center Point Emergency Room, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.

The incident occurred near E. Montague Avenue and Railroad Avenue, she said.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to the 1900 block of Alton Street where they found a man shot inside a pickup truck, according to North Charleston Police spokesperson Spencer Pryor.

Witnesses told police Shoaf and another man got into an argument that turned physical and at some point, the unknown man pulled a handgun and shot Shoaf.

Police say the truck had multiple bullet holes in the front windshield and police found shell cases around the front of an orange tractor nearby.
