CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - On Sunday, many Charleston residents reported smokey air conditions in Mount Pleasant, James Island and West Ashley.

The smoke was caused by controlled burns in the area, according to Charleston County Consolidated dispatch.

The burns were administered on Goat Island and Johns Island, dispatch said.
