NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a man trading a pistol for a pit bull on Craigslist was robbed at gunpoint in North Charleston.

North Charleston police say shortly before 2 p.m., officers responded to the 8700 block of Fairwind Drive for a report of an armed robbery.

The victim told investigators that he made contact with someone on Craigslist and made plans to trade a pistol for a pit bull.

“Upon arriving at the location, two unknown black males approached and presented a handgun,” NCPD officials said.

A report states the two suspects demanded the pistol that the victim was there to trade.

The duo then took the weapon and fled on foot. Police are continuing the investigation.
