GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley Habitat for Humanity ReStore hosted an Earth Day event in Goose Creek on Saturday.

The community event was to help get people to make recycling part of their everyday routine and learn new ways to reduce, restore and reuse.

Attendees took part in DIY demonstrations, and got some special Earth Day snacks. Free reusable bags were also given away.

The group says that the event also served to raise attention for the growing need for affordable housing in the Lowcountry. Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore proceeds go back into housing projects.
