JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Police officers are searching for a man who urinated inside a Harris Teeter store and Starbucks merchandise.

It happened on Thursday at the Harris Teeter on 1739 Maybank Hwy on James Island where police responded to a report of a vandalism.

The manager said at 7 p.m. he was alerted by an employee that a customer urinated inside the store on both the floor and some displayed merchandise.

Surveillance footage showed a man entering the business and continuing to the hot bar area.

Authorities say he’s then seen moving towards the in-store Starbucks cafe and urinating on some merchandise displayed there.

The video showed a customer passing by, saying something to the suspect, and then alerting an employee. The suspect is seen walking away.

Authorities said although the subject urinated, he did not expose himself in a sexual manner to anyone.

Employee said they did not know the man by name, but were confident they could identify him since he frequents the business.

Police describe the suspect as an older black male with average build and last seen wearing a white bandanna covering his head, a white “Sherwin Williams" T-shirt, white pants, and tan construction-like boots.
