Obie, Liferidge advance to general election to fill Berkeley Co. council seat

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County held a special election primary Tuesday in District Three to fill a seat on county council left vacant by the passing of late councilman Ken Gunn.

Gunn died in February after a battle with cancer and had served on the county council since January of 2013.

Republican Phillip Obie II and Democrat Tory Liferidge both advanced to the general election over Barbara Mcgowin and Elaine Barnett.

The general election is scheduled for June 25.
