NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a fatal shooting may have been the result of the victim attempting to rob another a man.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office said 19-year-old Henry Trey Norris of North Charleston died from a gunshot wound Tuesday night.
“At this time, investigators believe the shooting may have been a result of the deceased victim attempting to rob a male subject and gunfire being exchanged between the two,” NCPD officials said in a statement.
Investigators said they have identified and located the robbery victim who is cooperating with police.
“The incident remains under investigation and any further information will be forwarded when available,” said Spencer Pryor with North Charleston police.
Just before 11 p.m., police officers arrived in the 5000 block of Garrett Avenue for calls about a man who was shot.
Officers found the victim lying next to a house, and he was pronounced dead on scene.
Police are continuing the investigation.
