GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) – One year after being named the best coastal small town in America by USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice poll, the city of Georgetown is back to defend its title.
Of the 20 finalists, Georgetown is currently in fourth place with less than a week to go in the voting.
"We'd love to have Georgetown repeat its win as America's Best Coastal Small Town," said Mark A. Stevens, director of tourism development for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce. "We know just how special and unique Georgetown is, but this is such a great opportunity to showcase it to USA Today readers all over the nation."
As of Tuesday morning, Sandusky, OH, is currently in first place, followed by Rockport, TX, and Chincoteague, VA, respectively.
