GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A woman is suing a daycare facility in Goose Creek, claiming she picked up her two-year-old son from the center and saw a burn on his arm.

The incident allegedly happened on April 19, 2018 at Harvest Time Academy.

The lawsuit said the woman took her son to urgent care, where doctors determined he suffered a second-degree burn.

In the lawsuit, the woman claims Harvest Time Academy employees did not provide a safe environment for its students.

This is the third time in about three weeks that someone has filed a lawsuit against Harvest Time Academy.

A lawsuit filed on April 9 claims a mother picked up her one-year-old son from the daycare with a broken sternum.

Another lawsuit filed on April 18 claims a boy sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl with wood chips at the facility.

According to records with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, DSS has inspected Harvest Time Academy several times since 2017.

Most inspections DSS conducted were based on complaints filed with the department.

DSS inspected 7 instances of improper supervision, 7 operating policy deficiencies and 4 instances of unauthorized or unqualified caregivers.

Attorneys representing the facility have not responded to a request for comment.
