CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A South Carolina native who is running for president spoke in Summerville Saturday morning.
Robby Wells, who may be one of the lesser known contenders for the Oval Office, is a Furman University graduate, a former football staff member at South Carolina State University and USC and former head football coach at Savannah State University.
He spoke at the Young Democrats of South Carolina state convention.
“I’ve been all over this state," Wells said. "I literally know people pretty much in every county so we’re getting out here. we’re getting the word out that we’re going to run. If I have to go door to door we’re going to do it. Make no mistake: our nation will achieve greatness once the lines of separation that have divided our people are completely erased.”
If he is elected president in 2020, Wells' goals include strengthening partnerships between the United States and China, France and India. He also will call for these nations to achieve sustainable energy independence to clean up the environment, create millions of hobs and eliminate conflicts in the Middle East over the need for fossil fuels, his website states.
Wells also wants to see the United States reinstated into the Paris Climate Agreement.
He is currently the international spokesman and ambassador for the International Human Rights Peace Commission.
