PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) – Authorities are searching for suspects involved in a short police pursuit Wednesday night through Pawleys Island.

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jason Lesley said that Pawleys Island police spotted a car that they recognized as stolen with a stolen tag. He said the car was stolen out of Myrtle Beach and the tag was stolen out of Georgetown.

Georgetown County deputies attempted to put down stop sticks on South Causeway Road in order to flatten the tires and help officers in the pursuit, but the car kept going.

Lesley said the suspects ditched the car on Ferguson Drive off Petigru Drive.

The investigation is ongoing.
