NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Members of a North Charleston church are hearing good news Friday afternoon days after they realized a truck that belonged to the church had been stolen.

The truck, stolen from Macedonia Church, has been recovered, according to Dorchester County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Carson.

Deputies have not yet released details on where the truck was found or whether anyone faces charges in its theft.

Church members noticed the truck missing Tuesday when they gathered for a prayer service. The truck, which is normally parked outside the church, was missing.

The church uses the truck to pick up food from Lowcountry Food Bank and distribute it to people in the North Charleston, Summerville and Saint James communities.

Macedonia Church Pastor Elder Harold Tucker said earlier in the week the loss of the truck meant the church was not immediately able to hand out the food, but said they would do what they had to do to serve the community.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office at 843-873-5111.
