The crash was reported at approximately 9:33 a.m. Tuesday and temporarily closed the right east bound lane near mile marker 211.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern said the crash involved two 18-wheelers and a van. The first 18-wheeler slowed to a stop on the interstate and the van that was following it also slowed, he said. The second 18-wheeler struck the back of the van and pushed into the 18-wheeler in front of it, sandwiching the van between the two tractor trailers, he said.

Initial reports indicated the crash involved injuries, but Southern said there were no serious injuries to any of the drivers.

The driver of the second 18-wheeler was cited for driving too fast for conditions, Southern said.
