CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Four puppies left boxed in cardboard on the side of the road went on to star in a North Carolina wedding over the weekend.
Crystal Mosteller Hopson, the director of Hartman’s Haven Dog Rescue in Hickory, was headed to a longtime-volunteer’s wedding rehearsal Friday when she noticed a brown box with big bold letters that read, “FREE PUPPIES.”
The box was off a road in Statesville, about 10 minutes from the wedding location at River Creek Lodge in Hiddenite.
Surely curious, Hopson stopped and peered into the box to see four little white puppies.
When Hopson arrived with the pups, the bride said, “let’s add them to the wedding party! The groomsman can carry them!” a post from the rescue group read.
According to the rescue group, the bride said “it was meant to be” and that the ivory color of the puppies “fit in perfect” with the wedding color theme.
The puppies have names but they still need homes.
“Meet Ashley, Kinzley, Andrew and Garrett... named after the bride, groom and their 2 children!” the Facebook post reads, “They are 7 week old Feist mix.”
The rescue group says they have received several inquiries on the puppies but no one has sent back an application yet.
