Berkeley Co. school board taking action on software delay following Live 5 News investigation

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Less than 24 hours after a Live 5 Investigation aired, the Berkeley County school board took action to figure out what’s going on with a software delay.

At Tuesday night’s school board meeting, the board voted to authorize legal counsel to pursue any claims or legal action against former or current software companies.

They also authorized the district to get qualified, professional help from anyone who can resolve the software implementation issues.

Superintendent Dr. Eddie Ingram said Munis representatives will be on site Wednesday and Thursday.

“I want to make it clear to the general public that Berkeley County School District has a healthy fund balance and a balanced general fund,” Ingram said."We want you all to know that our administration, school board and others are diligently working behind the scenes to resolve this software issue."

Just before our story aired Monday night, the district posted updated spending records.

BCSD says they are now in compliance with state law when it comes to financial reporting.
