CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - More than 50 streets in Charleston County are set to be resurfaced as part of a $4 million project.
On Thursday, the county’s finance committee is set to award that multi-million-dollar contract to a contracting company out of North Charleston.
Crews will be responsible for resurfacing dozens of roads in every part of the county from James and Johns Island to McClellanville. In Ladson, an entire neighborhood is getting all new roads. That's in the area of Berrywood Drive off of Highway 78.
One of the longest stretches of any one spot is on Old Jacksonboro Road in Ravenel. Three miles are set to be resurfaced there from Highway 165 to Highway 17.
The project will consist of traffic control, surface preparation, asphalt resurfacing, and fine grading. The contracting company aims at starting this work in the late summer.
If you have a road you’d like to see resurfaced you can fill out a request form.
