CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A luxury hotel in downtown Charleston is claiming it agreed to be the official hotel sponsor for a festival, but was never paid for certain accommodations and services it agreed to as part of a contract.

Michael and Robert Leleux, organizers of the “Southern Style Now” festival, are listed as defendants and the Dewberry Hotel is suing for breach of contract claiming the hotel is owed a total of $23,768.06

According to the lawsuit, a binding contract was made where the Dewberry agreed to provide overnight accommodations, food and beverage services, access to meeting facilities and other hotel-related services.

The festival took place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4, 2018 in downtown Charleston. The Dewberry is still listed as a sponsor on the festival’s website as of Friday morning.

Both Michael and Robert Leleux are listed as festival founders.

General counsel for the hotel had no comment on the lawsuit Friday afternoon.
