DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Deputies say a man was grazed by a bullet while standing outside his apartment in Dorchester County on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies found blood droplets on the front porch and the victim on the kitchen floor inside the Shagbark Trail apartment at approximately 2:34 p.m. on Saturday.
The victim and his friend told deputies they were standing in front of the apartment when they heard a gunshot from a wooded area, he then felt a “blood rush” and fell to the ground, according to the incident report.
Both men refused to fill out a voluntary statement with the sheriff’s office.
Investigators later found another bullet hole through the downstairs bathroom door roughly 12 inches from the floor that continued through a bathroom wall with blood smeared on the carpet in front of the bathroom door, the incident report stated.
Detectives also didn’t find any evidence or shell casings in the wooded area and are continuing to investigate.
