CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A Charleston County judge has granted bond for a 56-year-old man charged with misuse of 911.

Wade Doering appeared in bond court on Monday after police say he threatened to kill emergency dispatchers.

According to court documents, he called the Summerville Police Department’s dispatcher emergency line about five times, threatened them and called them names.

Doering was booked in jail around 3:30 a.m. on Monday. Authorities say he was highly intoxicated and not having an emergency.

Summerville police officers say they found Doering in a wooded area off of East Richardson Avenue in a part of Summerville that’s in Charleston County.

He was arrested by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Al Cannon Detention Center website, a judge granted him a $2,500 bond.
