RICHMOND, Va. --- College of Charleston junior Josh Price (Dillion, S.C.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week after helping the Cougars extend their winning streak to eight games last week.

Price went 1-0 with a save in three appearances to lead College of Charleston (36-19, 16-8 CAA) to a midweek win over The Citadel and a series sweep of Delaware. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound junior did not allow a run in nine and one-third innings of work to lower his ERA to 3.00 in 78 innings this season.

He scattered four hits across six scoreless frames of relief in the Cougars’ 16-inning marathon win over Delaware on Thursday and picked up his seventh victory with two and one-third shutout stanzas on Saturday. Price also earned his first save as a Cougar in Tuesday’s comeback win against The Citadel.

Charleston returns to the diamond on Thursday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m. as the second-seeded Cougars begin their run in the 2019 CAA Championship against the highest remaining seed following the conclusion of day one.
