MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - A Mount Pleasant police officer may have saved a deer from drowning on Monday.
In a Facebook post, the department stated that a concerned person notified an Officer Lawson that a deer appeared to be stuck in the rocks at Waterfront Park near the Ravenel Bridge.
High tide was coming in at the time and there was no sign of the fawn’s mother, the post stated. It turns out the deer had its leg stuck between two rocks.
Officer Lawson was able to free the deer and took it to the vet to be checked out.
