CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating after a reported brawl involving nearly a dozen high school students broke out over the weekend at a restaurant.
Police responded at approximately 2:13 a.m. Sunday to the emergency room of MUSC where they learned about the fight at IHOP off Centre Point Drive that had occurred approximately 45 minutes earlier, an incident report states.
Police say the fight allegedly involved 11 Baptist Hill High School students. The report lists the some students who were allegedly involved by first and last names and others by first names only, with notations indicating some of the spellings were uncertain.
When police arrived to the emergency room a teenage girl’s mom told police her daughter had “been beaten about the head and shoulders with multiple closed fists,” the report states.
The mothers of three other students told police their children were also beaten up in the incident. One of the victims had a bloodied nose, the report states.
Videos of the alleged incident show two separate groups of students fighting in the parking lot.
The first video shows a brawl among what appears to be teenage girls. The second video shows a fight among teenage boys in the same IHOP parking lot. Several of the people there appeared to be recording the incident on their phones.
The incident happened the same night of the Baptist Hill High School prom.
Police have not yet said whether any of the 11 suspects have been charged in the incident.
