CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - If you're already looking forward to the chance to "get over it," you don't have to wait until next year to register for the 2020 Cooper River Bridge Run.

General registration opened Saturday for the 43rd running of the 10K, which takes place on April 4, 2020.

The price to register for the 10K is $40 through July 31. Beginning in August, the price increases by $5 every two months until it reaches $60 on Feb. 1, 2020.

Earlier this week, Tri-County residents were given the chance to register early at a discounted rate, but that offer ended Friday.

The race is third-largest 10k in the country and has a cap of 40,000 runners.

Elite runners Silas Kipruto and Monicah Nigige, both from Kenya, won the 42nd Cooper River Bridge Run.

The race, which uses the slogan “Get Over It,” benefits 14 charities.
