BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Deputies have arrested a 46-year-old man who authorities say shot another man at a Goose Creek apartment complex then spat on a responding paramedic.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office charged Timothy Scott with attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and third-degree assault and battery.

Late Sunday evening, deputies responded to the 100 block of Swift Boulevard for a report of a shooting.

“When deputies arrived on scene a standoff with the suspect ensued which ended in his arrest,” BCSO officials. “Upon his arrest deputies were able to provide immediate medical assistance to the victim while awaiting EMS.”

A report states that deputies learned that the altercation began inside the residence and allegedly began with a dispute over money.

According to the sheriff’s office, Scott also spat on a paramedic who was providing medical attention to him.

Scott was taken to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
