CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston police say a man’s body was spotted by a diver under a boat anchored at the Charleston City Marina Wednesday morning.
Officers first responded to the scene at 10:25 a.m.
Charleston Police Lt. Matt Wojslawowicz said a diver was doing maintenance on a boat anchored at the marina and saw what he described as an anomaly under a nearby boat. When he went to investigate, he realized it was a body and notified police, Wojslawowicz said
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the body and determine a cause of death, he said.
It is not known how long the body was in the water.
