Police: Man facing drug, gun charges after traffic stop in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston police arrested a man Wednesday during a traffic stop on Rivers Avenue.

Marc Antonio Riley, 39, has been charged with possession of a firearm during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a stolen handgun, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of Ecstasy.

Riley was stopped on Eleanor Drive and he had a cocaine base in plain view, according to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

A search of the car also yielded a black bookbag with cocaine, crack and ecstasy inside, Pryor said. A gun was also found with some marijuana. a .22 caliber revolver was also found in the passenger’s side door.

Richard Macanic, a passenger, was charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun.
