COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - University of South Carolina President Harris Pastides released a statement around noon Sunday addressing president-elect Lt. General Robert Caslen.
The university’s Board of Trustees voted 11-8 in favor of Caslen on July 19th.
Pastides statement comes in the wake of Darla Moore, the namesake of the UofSC business school, suggesting the presidential search should be restarted.
Caslen will be holding his first press conference, since being voted in as the university’s next president, on the first floor of the USC School of Law on Monday at 11 a.m.
Calsen’s presidency is set to begin on September 16th.
