MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Police are investigating a reported stabbing at a Mount Pleasant home.
On Thursday at 8 p.m., a Mount Pleasant police officer responded to a home on Rifle Range Road for a man being stabbed.
Another police officer had arrived on scene and was assisting paramedics in getting the victim, who was on the front lawn, to regain consciousness.
A witness said it all started when they were inside a home drinking and a conversation became intense over a “bad joke.” A police report states the victim, a 25-year-old man, and the suspect, a 45-year-old woman, don’t socialize “or desire” to speak to one another.
According to investigators, the suspect made a joke in reference to a grandmother and the conversation took another turn.
A report states that words were exchanged and both the victim and the suspect became irate with the victim stating he was going to hit the suspect.
The witness said she got in between the parties and a physical altercation took place. The witness said she didn’t recall what happened at that point, but she said the victim yelled that he was stabbed.
The witness said that the victim tried to throw a small bicycle at the suspect but was unsuccessful.
A report states that the suspect got in a vehicle and attempted to strike the victim, but the witness jumped in between them.
The suspect then drove off.
Another witness said a bottle was used in the incident, and remembers the victim being soaked in blood.
