Authorities investigating after shooting victim driven to James Island grocery store

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - Authorities are investigating after a shooting victim showed up at a James Island Food Lion Friday night, according to police.

Charleston Police say the victim, who had been shot in the arm, was driven to the grocery store on 1291 Folly Rd. at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The victim initially met with Charleston Police but could not provide an exact location of where the shooting happened, saying it happened somewhere on James Island, Charleston County Sheriff’s Capt. Roger Antonio said.

He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Antonio said.

The sheriff’s office is now investigating the incident.
