CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The city of Charleston announced a delay to the start of Sunday’s holiday parade.

Because of forecasted wind and rain Sunday, the parade is now scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m., one half-hour later than originally scheduled.

The city tree lighting ceremony in Marion Square is set to begin immediately after the festival.

City emergency management officials say they will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the morning and will provide any updates, as needed.
