Coroner identifies victim of single-vehicle Mt. Pleasant crash

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant police say one person died in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend.

Edwin “Ted” Byrne, 71, died at the scene of the crash, which happened at approximately 8:14 p.m. Saturday on Needlerush Parkway in Mount Pleasant, according to Charleston County Deputy Coroner Christina Harrison. Byrne’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Mount Pleasant Police Inspector Chris Rosier.

The Mount Pleasant police traffic team is currently investigating the collision.
